Now I'll answer.
Who knows that you blog?
That’s a good question.
Well, I don’t go around telling everyone about it right off the bat, but if someone asks me what I do, my blog—or rather, my blogs—is part of the answer. For me, writing is an outlet, a hobby that lets me express my creative side and bring a smile to someone’s face.
Have I always told people about it?
No, my husband has always known and is familiar with my blogs, but other than that, only people online knew about it—I can’t say exactly why that was. Maybe this was supposed to be my safe space, maybe I wanted to hide, or maybe I just didn’t think it was worth mentioning.
Today, I see things differently!
I’m proud of what I do; I still have my safe space, it’s just that now there are people close to me or whom I know personally who know about it too. If I’m already so open online, then I might as well be that way in face-to-face situations too. Plus, I can use my experiences to help other people who have similar health issues to mine—not just online, but also when we’re talking, at the doctor’s office, or in similar situations.
If you’d like, you can also interact with me on Twitch and spend time together—we share a hobby.
For me, my blogs have become a completely natural topic of conversation—I don’t even have to think about whether I can say something. What you say online, the internet doesn’t forget, and what I tell the person I’m talking to, they won’t forget either.
I am who I am, with all my quirks, and whether online or offline, you just have to deal with it. Another reply on this by Alex → re: Who knows that you blog?
Back to the question. How about you? Do you tell people you blog?
